Man Arrested After Drugs And Cash Recovered From Address In Appleby Magna

A man was arrested in Appleby Magna this morning after a police raid in which drugs and cash were found.

The 51-year-old was arrested at a Measham Road address on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "At around 8am today (Wednesday 12 August) officers executed a warrant at an address in Measham Road, Appleby Magna, under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

"A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

"Drugs and cash were recovered from the premises.

"The man remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing."

A post on the North West Leicestershire Police Facebook page also showed a photo of what appeared to be a cannabis grow.

Their message read: "Good result following a drug warrant that was executed in Appleby Magna today by PC White and PC Walker of the Forest Beat Team, helped out by other neighbourhood officers.

"Drugs and cash located. One person arrested  #inyourcommunity  #LeicPolice."
