An Ashby town centre restaurant says someone broke their front window in the early hours of this morning (Saturday) - leaving 'blood on the pavement' as a result of the incident.

The owners of Little India in Market Street issued details on social media, explaining that the police had been called - but also that the person resonsible had been caught on CCTV.

But the restaurant was open as usual, albeit with a boarded up window as a result of the damage caused.

Little India's social media message said: "A message for all our customers and the people of Ashby

"In the early hours of this morning, someone thought it was a good idea to put their head through our front window causing it to break.

"We can only assume they must've been very eager to try our food.

"The police have been made aware and the person who caused the damage has been caught on CCTV. The police have also viewed the footage.

"Whoever this person was, we strongly advise for them to step forward as they have already been caught on CCTV as well as leaving their blood all over the pavement.

"If anyone knows anything at all about this incident, we would really appreciate if you could inform us with what you know.

"We would also like to thank those who have been making us aware of this incident.

"The window is now boarded up and we will be open as usual".
