Leisure centres in Ashby and Coalville are set to reopen from next Monday after the Government's go-ahead for Step 2 of the roadmap.

Ashby's Hood Park Leisure Centre, along with Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick, will open its doors again following a three-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Both venues are managed by sports and leisure operator Everyone Active in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council.

The lido at Hood Park Leisure Centre will open on Saturday, May 29 – a date in keeping with previous years which takes into account an ongoing refurbishment of facilities.

The Government confirmed on Monday that leisure centres would be safe to reopen with strict operational measures in place.

This is the latest stage of the four-step roadmap and follows the reopening of several outdoor activities at Everyone Active sites on Monday, March 29, such as the artificial football pitches at Hermitage and Hood Park which are available for block bookings at present.

The Government's roadmap includes detail on which facilities can reopen within each step, meaning some may not be available in the first instance.

Everyone Active has committed to keeping its customers safe and active, ensuring it will meet and exceed Government guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19 with the Everyone Active Pledge.

While its 200 leisure centres across the country have been closed, Everyone Active has provided a comprehensive package of online workouts for people to use, along with livestreamed classes across its social media pages.

In line with Government guidance, 50 people per bookable session will be allowed to use the Hood Park Lido in the first instance, with pricing to be confirmed.

The booking system will be implemented closer to the opening date.

• Saturday, May 29-Sunday, June 6 (9am-6pm) – open every day
• Saturday, June 12-Sunday, July 4 (9am-6pm) – open every weekend
• Saturday, July 10-Sunday, September 5 (9am-6pm) – open every day
• Pool party slots will be available every Saturday and Sunday only from Saturday, May

29-Sunday, September 5.

• During hot periods, two-hour bookings only will be run.
