Ashby Nub News celebrates its fourth birthday this weekend - and we want to let you know how you can get involved with your local website.

It was in December 2019 when our first articles appeared as part of the nationwide network of Nub sites.

Since then, we have gained a strong readership and we thank the town and the surrounding area for supporting us.

It has been an eventful four years, which of course included the Covid pandemic.

But as this is a milestone for us, we thought we would take the opportunity to remind everyone how you can contribute to the Ashby Nub News site.

First, Nub It articles.

Do you have a story you want us to feature?

If there is something you think deserves some attention, then let us know.

Jot down 200-300 words, and use the Nub It button to send it directly to us - with a photo if you have one.

Don't worry if it's not perfect, we edit everything before it goes online.

Second, What's On.

Do you have an event coming up? Do you want to list it for free?

Are you a pub, club, theatre, local society or sports team with an event to publicise?

Then go to the What's On page, click the Nub It button, and fill in all the details of your event - please add a photo or poster if you can.

That then appears on the What's On listing, and in our weekly newsletter.

Third, Jobs.

Our jobs section at Ashby Nub News is new and improved.

It has had an overhaul and is now a comprehensive guide to the most current vacancies on offer in the Ashby area and South Derbyshire.

So, if you have a job you want to list - which will cost a fee of just £75 - then let us know.

But you're a jobseeker, here's a link to the page, with a wide variety of vacancies to browse through.

Four, Shop Local.

We encourage people to use local businesses and shops to buy their goods - it's all about keeping the high street alive.

You can list your business for free in our Shop Local section.

This is the part of Ashby Nub News were readers can look for the businesses that are currently in the area and looking for your custom.

Five, Subscribe.

You can also have the Ashby Nub News Newsletter sent directly to you by email each Friday.

We pick the best of the week's stories, and add another article which you will not have already seen on the site.

You can also follow us on the Ashby Nub News Facebook page.

To subscribe to the Newsletter, please click HERE.

So, thanks once again for your continued support.

We're off for a slice of birthday cake!
