Gas works will close off part of road near Ivanhoe College in Ashby for two days

North Street will be closed off near Ivanhoe College for two days the weekend after next.

Road works will be in place to fit a new gas link to the College.

It means that from Saturday, August 20, until the following Sunday, a closure will be in place.

A post from Ashby de la Zouch Town Council reads: "Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at North Street.

"The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for GS Energy Solutions Ltd to facilitate new connections to Ivanhoe College.

"A road closure and suspension of one-way is required on North Street on the 20th August 2022 for two days as follows:

• Road closure from approx. 20m west of Ivanhoe College Car Park Entrance to 20m east of Ivanhoe College Car Park Exit

• Suspension of One-way from Hood Car Park to Market Street.

"The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Brook Street and Market Street.

"During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed HERE"
