Garden centre near Ashby threatens to 'ban dogs' if owners fail to clean up after them

Staunton Harold Nurseries and Garden Centre has threatened to ban dogs from the premises if owners cannot stop their pets from fouling the area.
A social media post by the visitor attraction near Ashby says it does not want to ban people from bringing dogs.
But it adds that may be the next step if the 'daily' problem continues.
The post, issued this month, reads: "The sun is out and with an influx of walkers, we have had the rising issue of dogs fouling in the garden centre.
"The occasional accident is understandable, however we have had many instances of irresponsible owners, not paying attention to their animals, or noticing and just leaving the mess.
"This is not acceptable, and sadly happening daily.
"The staff do not wish to be cleaning after other people's pets, or work in an unclean environment. To keep the garden centre clean we implore everyone to clean up after their animals, and if asked we will gladly give you the cleaning supplies to do so.
"As dog lovers ourselves, it will be very sad, but if these events continue to occur, we will have no other option but to ban dogs. Please start cleaning up after your pets before it comes to that. "
