The funeral of former Ashby School student Dylan Lamb will take place at St Helen's Church as his family says his heart was in the town.

Dylan sadly passed away almost two weeks ago after a battle with leukaemia.

He gained nationwide recognition after his friends' fundraising campaign was supported by high-profile personalities such as footballer Jack Grealish and actor Stephen Graham.

Dylan's family and friends had been trying to raise money to send him to the USA for the urgent treatment he needed.

His mum, Kim Veitch, posted details of the funeral on social media.

It will take place on September 21 and she called on people to 'give him the best send off we can'.

The post reads: 'Here are the details of our beautiful Dylan's final journey:- Thursday, 21st September 2023

'Service at: St Helen's Church, Lower Church Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, LE65 1AA at 2pm

'Burial at: Ashby Cemetery, Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, Legion House, South Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire at 3:00 pm

'Wake at: White Hart Inn, 82 Market Street, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, LE65 1AP

'All are most welcome to come along and help us give our boy the biggest send off that we can.

'His heart was in Ashby, so it seems only fitting that he has his final resting place there.'
