Fairy lights are going up and advent calendars are being opened as we rapidly approach Christmas.
Every year, we have a traditional selection of events on the run-up to Christmas, including Carol concerts, Christingle and the big Christmas Light Switch On.
However, there is also a lot of more non-traditional events going on, giving local a unique way to get into the festive spirit.
Festive Fun on the Farm
Charnwood Forest Alpacas, based just outside Ashby in Boundry, are offering a Four-in-One festive experience.
Their festive experience promises to be packed with 'animals, crafts and just the right amount of chaos.'
The experience includes:
- a Festive Alpaca Walk - take a wonder with the alpacas, dressed up in their finest Christmas bandanas
- Pig Cuddles - Meet their cheeky Kune Kune piglets and feed them a tub of veggies to nibble
- Craft Corner - Get creative and make a festive keepsake
- Petting Farm Access - Go round and say hello to the rest of the animals, including goats, pigs, alpacas and maybe even one very unimpressed chicken
- Festive Treat - Enjoy a free mince pie or cookie on arrival
