Sunday 7 December will see the return of the annual Ashby Santa Fun Run and Walk for the 11th year. 

This festive 3km funrun or walk follows a route around Ashby de la Zouch, all raising money for brilliant local charities. 

Entries are now open for participants to sign up for this year's Santa Run, costing just £8 to join with funds going towards local causes. 

This year's causes are Steps Conductive Education Centre and Wishes4Kids. Steps Conductive Education Centre is a unique service providing education for children with motor impairments like Cerebral Palsy or Down Syndrome. Their goal is to work closely with children to boost confidence, develop skills and maximise the potential of the children in a safe and supportive environment. 

Wishes4Kids grant wishes for children and young people in Leicestershire who are terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical and emotional traumas and have suffered major abuse. They hope to grant a special moment that can bring job into the lives of the children and create lasting memories for their families and loved ones. 

Organised by the Rotary Club of Ashby Castle, the 2025 Ashby Santa Run will start from 10.30 on Ashby Bath Grounds with the judging of the 'Best Christmas Dressed' competition with brilliant prizes from Ashby BID, Fitness Republic, Conkers, Charnwood Forest Alpacas and Pet Deli. 

There will then be a fun warm up to all your favourite Christmas hits before runners and walkers head off for their 3km. All participants will get an event medal and bar of chocolate at the end.
