Eligible families will be able to access free gym and swim memberships and holiday clubs in Ashby this summer

There will be the opportunity this summer in Ashby for eligible families with children between the ages of 5 and 16 that receive benefits-related school meals to access free holiday clubs, gym and swim memberships.
Working in partnership with Active Together, Leicestershire County Council has organised the Holiday Act Fund (HAF) programme to offer a maximum of 16 sessions for each child over the summer holidays.
The programme will include free junior gym and swim summer memberships available for children aged 11 to 16 at the Everyone Active leisure centre and lido.
Leader of Leicestershire County Council, Dan Harrison, said: "These clubs provide a safe, fun and enriching environment for children such as sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures and hands-on workshops, as well as a nutritious meal every day."
"Children and young people gain not only memorable experiences but also opportunities to socialise, stay active and learn new skills in a supportive environment."
Sessions will be taking place in Ashby and Moira as well as across the county in Melton, Loughborough, Thurmaston, Syston, Coalville and Hinkley.
Parents and carers with eligible children will be sent an e-voucher by text or email from [email protected]
