Man, 36, is arrested after car crashes into the front of a house in Ashby town centre collision

A car crashed into the front door of a house and a lamppost in Ashby town centre on Sunday evening - causing "significant" damage.
Photos submitted to Ashby Nub News show the extent of the incident which happened at around 9.15pm.

The collision saw a house on Wood Street impacted - with worried residents on the street to check on what had happened.
Witnesses said that there was 'significant damage to property and street lighting'.
Leicestershire Police confirmed today (Monday) that a man had been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving.

A spokesperson for the force told Ashby Nub News: "We can confirm we dealt with an incident in Wood Street, Ashby, around 9.34pm yesterday (Sunday 8 June) where a car had left the road and collided with a lamppost and the front door of a house.
"A 36-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving. He has since been released pending further investigations."
