A series of road closures will be in place during mornings and afternoons between Ashby and Moira later this month.

They are scheduled to take place over a six day period - starting on January 18.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order along Kilwardby Street and Moira Road.

The county council says this is so that work can be carried out for public safety reasons when pre-surface dressing patching will be taking place.

The local authority adds that the closures will be needed between Bath Street, Ashby and Dorset Drive, Moira on January 18 for six working days.

Closures are scheduled to be in place daily between 09:00 and 15:00, Monday to Fridays.

A suggested alternative diversion route will be: Market Street, Wood Street, Nottingham Road, A511, A42 J13-12, Measham Road, Ashby; Ashby Road, New Street, Measham; Measham Road, Oakthorpe; Moira Road, Donisthorpe; Measham Road, Ashby Road, Moira; and vice versa.

More details can be found HERE when the works begin.
