Coronavirus: Updated Local Map Shows Latest Figures For Ashby Area
By Graham Hill
30th Aug 2020 | Local News
Updated data released on Friday shows that there were no Coronavirus-related deaths recorded during July in the Ashby area and surrounding villages.
The data localises how many people have died from Covid-19 in each region.
The latest welcome statistics are in stark contrast to April which saw the most deaths.
The official total for Ashby and neighbouring villages is 31 up to July 31.
But the figure for July reflects the fact that North West Leicestershire has one of the lowest totals in the county.
The figures are issued by the Office For National Statistics for Middle Layer Super Output Areas.
Ashby is divided into north and south for these purposes. The combined total of deaths for the town is 15, with 11 coming in April. But none were recorded for July. Figures for the Donisthorpe & Blackfordby area, which includes Moira, show there were seven deaths recorded, four in April, but again, none in July. The Measham area has four deaths, two of them coming in April. Packington, Ravenstone & Coleorton have had five deaths since March, two in April and, once more, none in July.
