A planned tractor run from Packington to Ashby in support of the NHS on Thursday evening has been cancelled on police advice.
The area's agricultural community had wanted to come together during the weekly Clap for out Carers night while Coronavirus restrictions are in place.
But organiser Tim Livesey, of Livesey Bros, said the run was off after talks with police.
He explained that while they would not be stopped from staging the event, the police would prefer they did not.
This was despite saying that social distancing measures would be observed on the night.
News of the run was announced on Tuesday and a number of people showed an interest in seeing it Tractor Run Into Ashby Planned For Thursday
The tractors were to have travelled through some of the town's housing estates before finishing up on Market Street.
They had planned to meet at Livesey Brothers' Mushroom Farm in Packington and display banners supporting the NHS and care workers.
Mr Livesey said earlier this week that UK agriculture needed to show their support for the NHS and all the care workers during this tough time.
He said: "We have called upon them at some point in the past and will do again in the future.
"It is important that it's one tractor only and one person per tractor to make sure we are seen to be social distancing."
