Measham Hardware says it will refuse to sell toilet paper to panic buyers amid the Coronavirus crisis.

They posted a message on Facebook criticising people's greed and saying that the country has 'gone mad' after seeing photos of supermarket shelves being emptied.

The Measham High Street store also made it clear they will be keeping supplies back for elderly people.

Their post read: "After seeing this and all the greed people are doing I will not be selling the loo roll we have in stock to people who want to binge buy.

"I will also be saving a stock pile for the elderly, as the way people are acting is completely unfair on them and they are the ones most at risk.

"The country has gone mad for no reason at all. If you're self-isolating and you're unable to get out your house for any reason, please contact Measham Hardware and we will do our best to help with any deliveries we can.

"Even if we don't stock things ourselves we will do our best to help you if you're in need.

"We would also welcome anything people would like to donate towards helping the elderly in need.

"Please stop binge buying and think of others. And if you have anything, please pop it to our store.

"If you know anyone that may be at risk and needs help tell them to call us on 01530270396 and we will do our best to help."
