Community groups encouraged to apply for 'Love Your Neighbourhood' grants
By Grace Kennington 1st Apr 2026
Community groups in North West Leicestershire are being encouraged to apply for community grants to support projects making positive environmental improvements.
The 'Love Your Neighbourhood' grants up to £500 available for projects taking place in June as part of the district's Love Your Neighbourhood campaign.
The funding is available for a wide variety of activities, including: planting in shared spaces, organising large scale litter picking events, installing communal compost bins, adding hanging baskets to community buildings or preparing areas for wild flowers.
Applications are open throughout April 2026 and the funds will be awarded to projects that most benefit the community and are in the spirit of Love Your Neighbourhood.
Last year, four groups received a total of £1,197.65 for activities including litter picking and installing habitats to improve biodiversity. Other groups bought and planted fruit trees and tidied up their community buildings.
