Ashby United Community Football Club has announced a new partnership with Ashby School and LiFE Multi Academy Trust (MAT) to use and develop the Range Road playing fields and the new, state of the art pavilion for the club's social and welfare activities.

The partnership comes at an important time for Ashby United. Since its launch last year, the club has grown beyond expectation and now comprises 15 teams from under fives to veterans over 55.

In close collaboration with Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, the club operates across multiple municipal sites in the town.

As well as providing the club with a fantastic new facility, the new partnership will give the club a much needed, solid foundation from which to expand and develop.

Ashby School, which is part of the LiFE MAT, prides itself on its strong links with the local community and is strengthening this connection through its partnership with Ashby United CFC.

Suzanne Windridge, Chair of Ashby United CFC, commented: "We cannot thank Ashby School enough for all its help and support.

"We're absolutely thrilled with the new arrangement and regard the new Range Road facility as our home.

"The ground is a five minute walk from the centre of town, has plenty of car parking and has lots of development potential right in the centre of Ashby."

Nicola Koncarevic, Interim Headteacher at Ashby School, added: "We're delighted to join forces with Ashby United Community Football Club and to enable them to take advantage of our fabulous facilities at Range Road.

"The club shares many of our community values and we're very much looking forward to working with them to provide a safe and pleasant environment where people of all ages and abilities from the Ashby community can come to enjoy football."

In line with its collaborative community approach, Ashby United Community Football Club will round off its successful first season with a presentation night at Ashby Hastings Cricket Club on July 4.

"Along with four other football clubs in the town, the club will also be attending the Ashby Sport Fun Day on July 3 at the Bath Grounds.
