Comedian Paul Sinha has hit back at an 'insensitive and rude' member of the audience who made reference to his 'shaky hand' following an appearance at Ashby's Lyric Rooms.
Sinha - also one of the stars of ITV Quiz show The Chase - was part of Thursday's Funhouse Comedy Show at the Lower Church Street venue on Thursday evening.
Afterwards, he posed for photos with fans but took exception to one who asked for a photo to be taken to hide Sinha's 'shaky hand'.
However, Sinha was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in May, 2019 - a condition he says 'will only get worse'.
The comic tweeted: "To the audience member who asked for a post gig photo, and asked her friend taking it to "hide his shaky hand", I want you to know that the smile on my face hides pure hatred.
"This particular person was not socially awkward at all as evidenced by other behaviours and words.
"Alcohol, rudeness, insensitivity and entitledness."
But he also tweeted: "I ought to say that the rest of the audience were delightful, Ashby is always a great gig, and she was not a local."
Responding to a reply, he added: "I'd just finished a closing set and people were queueing up for photos. 99 per cent of whom were lovely and polite.
"I took the pragmatic route of not causing a scene, or losing my temper because there were still people queueing, and I didn't want to spoil their evening."
Sinha spoke of his condition when he was diagnosed three years ago and said: "I have an amazing family, no strangers to serious medical illness,
"I'm blessed to have a fiance who is there for me, and I have a multitude of friends and colleagues whom I consider to be exceptional human beings.
"I don't consider myself unlucky, and whatever the next stage of my life holds for me, many others have it far worse."
