North West Leicestershire have published their changes to bin collections over Christmas and New Year, including changes to waste and recycling collections.

From Monday 15 December 2025 to Monday 12 January 2026, North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) will make changes to recycling and waste collection schedules to ensure extra waste produced around the festive season is collected.

Garden bin collections, including the additional garden waste service, will be suspended between Monday 15 December 2025 and Monday 12 January 2026.

There will also be no waste and recycling collections on the following dates:

• Thursday 25 December (if households normally receive a collection on a Thursday, the collection will take place on Tuesday 30 December, there will be no collection on Thursday 1 January)
• Friday 26 December (if households normally receive a collection on a Friday, the collection will take place on Friday 2 January)
• If households normally receive a collection on a Tuesday, there will be no collection on Tuesday 30 December
• Wednesday 31 December.

Residents can find their Christmas and 2026 collection dates, and download and print their own collection calendar, by visiting my.nwleics.gov.uk or by putting their postcode in the 'My location' box on the council's website.
