Castle Medical Group in Ashby is urging people over 50 who have not yet received their Covid vaccine to contact them before Saturday.

The health centre says that the last supply of vaccine for first vaccinations only will be used at the Measham hub this Saturday (March 27).

Castle Medical adds that it does not know when it will be holding vaccinations at its Burton Road surgery - as it does know when it will be allocated more vaccine.

The centre posted on its Facebook today (Thursday) and said: "At present we have been informed that the last supply of vaccines for 1st VACCINATIONS ONLY are going to be used at the Measham hub this Saturday 27th March.

"If you are aged 50 years or over and have not yet had your first Covid vaccine and can attend the Measham Leisure Centre hub this Saturday 27th March we would like you to contact us via our email [email protected] - stating your name and date of birth along with a contact telephone number please and we will be in touch to get you booked in.

"If you receive or have already received a text invite asking you to book into the clinic at the Measham hub we would strongly advise you to take up this opportunity please.

"Unfortunately we do not know when we will be able to hold more clinics here at the practice as we are waiting to know when we will be allocated more vaccines.

"We would be very grateful if you did not contact us with second Covid vaccination queries at this time please.

"We also appreciate there are currently lots of different sectors sending out text invites to patients inviting you to book your Covid vaccination.

"We understand that receiving lots of texts is frustrating but we would like to make patients aware that we cannot see if you have an appointment booked at another location when sending out invites."
