A number of new shows and events have been announced by Ashby's Venture Theatre for the early part of 2023.

On Saturday, February 18, the North Street venue will be hosting Cirque Crevette.

This is a variety show filled with magic, illusion, mind-reading, acro and aerial tricks, as well as singing and LED performances.

Award-winning magician, Marc Lavelle will take you on a journey never seen before by audiences.

Accompanied by national title holding acrobats, Cat and Chelsy, the show is is expected to sell out.

The following Saturday, February 25, Sarah Spencer's Transatlantic Band will be at the Venture Theatre.

Described as a very lively band who play blues, jazz and some hot and dirty music from the deep south, Sarah is one of the best tenor sax players in the country.

The band also includes some great musicians from the London scene.

On Friday, March 3, Annie Duggan's Blues Band are coming to the Venture Theatre.

Annie mixes influences from country, Americana, blues, rock, folk and jazz to create arrangements in collaboration with songwriter Colin Granger.

Her voice has been a major inspiration in the writing of the material that is delivered, with strong rhythmic support from Rob Hines who has been with her from the beginning.

Annie and her musicians have travelled the length and breadth of both the UK and America.

From March 23 to April 1 (23rd-25th, 29th-1st), Ashby Dramatic Society is staging The Turn of the Screw.

This is play adapted by Patrick Prior from the novel by Henry James.

The Turn of the Screw tells the tale of a young governess who agrees to look after two orphaned children in Bly, a seemingly idyllic country house. However, shortly after she arrives, she realises they are not alone. There are others: the ghosts of Bly's troubled past.

The governess will risk everything to keep the children safe, even if it means giving herself up to the 'others'.
