Ashby's independent café The Style Hive has announced their immediate closure via a statement published on their Facebook page. 

They shared the sad news, saying: "Sadly we are now closed with immediate effect. We have worked so hard over the last couple of months to keep the business going. We want to thank all of our amazing regular customers for their support. Hopefully we will still see you around." 

This news comes as part of a long chain of small, independent businesses struggling to remain open on the high street, with the Style Hive team reminding people to 'make sure to use your favourite small businesses!'

The owner of Style Hive Lucy has said she is 'absolutely devastated' to have to make this decision and have received an outpouring of comments from local people expressing their love for the café and sadness at this news. 

One commenter said: "So gutted about this! Lucy, you should be so proud of the beautiful place you created. You worked so hard and always had a smile on your face. You've made lots of people happy with your amazing coffee, cakes and community at The Style Hive."

Another commented: "I'm so sorry to hear this. It was always such a welcoming place; the staff put their heart and soul into everything they do and it truly made it one of the best cafes in town."
