Ashby’s Style Hive owner ‘absolutely devastated’ but hopeful for future of baking business

After owner Lucy's surprise announcement this week that The Style Hive would be closing with immediate effect, she has shared how difficult closing her café has been.
In her statement announcing the closure said: "Sadly we are now closed with immediate effect. We have worked so hard over the last couple of months to keep the business going. We want to thank all our amazing regular customers for their support."
Speaking to Ashby Nub News, Lucy said: "I am absolutely heartbroken, the shop was a second home for me, it was my baby. I spent 7 days a week there every week for the last three years. It's a huge shock to my life and it will take some time to recover."

For local fans of The Style Hive, there will still be the opportunity to enjoy Lucy's delicious bakes. She will continue baking from home as her creations, especially birthday and special occasion cakes, have been popular.

Named BMBLE. Bakehouse, Lucy hopes in the future to start selling her bakes to local cafes on a wholesale basis so people can still get a fix of their favourite sweet treats that were sold at The Style Hive. Based in Ashby, her cakes are available for delivery or collection, and she hopes to also attend local events and markets in the future.
