Indulgent Chocolates has announced it will close its Ashby town centre shop at the end of August.

Owner Keith Tiplady and his family opened the store in 2021, selling bespoke hampers and eventually expanding to a small cafe.

It had planned to occupy a site in Market Street but chose Bath Street instead.

Since then, it has proved a popular addition in the town and was nominated in a national award.

But now, Keith says he and his family are leaving for new opportunities in the Middle East.

A statement on social media says: "After just over 3 years, Indulgent Chocolates shop in Ashby will be closing its doors for the last time on the 24th August.

"Thank you for all your support over the last few years, we have met lots of amazing people and love seeing our regulars.

"Please continue to support us through our final few months in Ashby.

"We will still be stocking a large variety of our Indulgent Chocolates, hampers, gift boxes and treats as well as bringing back a few customer favourites for one final time.

"Keep an eye on our social media for full details of special flavours and opening times etc.

"We are excited to be starting a new chapter in our family life, in Qatar!

"My wife Jess has recently accepted a job there and we are looking forward to starting our big adventure in the next few months.

"Unfortunately it's a little warm for me to be working with Indulgent Chocolates, so I will be going back to project management.

"If anyone is interested in an exciting investment opportunity, Indulgent Chocolates will be going up for sale.

"Please contact us for more details."
