The return of Ashby's two day Christmas Food Gusto event has been confirmed for early December.

Market Street will be closed to traffic once again - on December 3-4 - with an array of stalls and attractions taking over ahead of the festive season.

The event is held alongside the Christmas celebrations organised by Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, and is perfect for getting those final gifts for Christmas combined with a wide range of food on offer.

Organisers say that, in keeping with the Food Gusto ethos, the Christmas Fair will be made up of some of the finest quality food and drink producers from across the region, each bringing a taste of something truly unique to the town, alongside a range of festive entertainment for the whole family, including live music and children's rides.

There will be a selection of hot food stalls to choose from both days, from woodfired pizza and beef burgers to Korean Fried Chicken and Vegan wraps.

You can also have drinks from luxury hot chocolate or artisan coffee, to mulled wine and mulled cider.

Food stalls will also offer mince pies, cakes, traybakes, brownies and doughnuts - along with crepes, olives, nuts, artisan bread and pies.

Christmas shopping is also on the menu, with both food and drink stalls and artisan crafters on hand with a selection of gift ideas, from bottled beer, original prints, aprons and tea-towels to handmade candles, Christmas wreaths and artisan gifts.

There will also be a range of entertainment, including children's rides, a live music programme and, of course, Santa will be visiting.

The event will start at 10:30am till 5pm on Saturday 3rd, and 10:30 am till 4:30pm Sunday 4th December.

Entry is free, and you will also be encouraged to come and support Ashby's vibrant shops and town traders.
