Ashby's Proms in the Park has confirmed the line up for this Saturday's event ay the Bath Grounds.

The music starts at 5pm with Harry Thornley, followed at 5.40 by the Concordia Choir.

Based in Ashby, the choir's repertoire includes acapella and accompanied choral music from a range of styles. It is a non-auditioning choir and open to everyone.

At 6.10, it will be Iain and Steph. followed at 7pm by Sophie Dangerfield.

At 7.40, it will be Big Men in Town, whose act is a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Headlining at 8.50 will be the Ashby Big Band.

The band is is a 14 to 16 piece Swing Orchestra using the classic Big Band formation of saxes, brass and rhythm section of some of the great big bands of the swing era.

Their music is a tribute to Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, more recently Ted Heath and a name youngsters will recognise; Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

The band rehearses monthly and plays at some of the most prestigious events "where only the best Big Band will do".

The music is rehearsed to perfection and each programme is tailored specifically for the event.

Organisers have added: "Anyone thinking of turning up without a ticket and sitting outside of the barrier - there is a cricket match going on and our barrier is up to the cricket boundary.

"There will be no place to sit and there will be danger of being hit by a cricket ball - so please - just support local events and buy a ticket!"
