Ashby-based I Love Crepes will be back in business tomorrow (Sunday) for the first time since the Coronavirus Lockdown was imposed.

They will be operating outside the Ivanhoe Social Club who have allowed them to set up there.

I Love Crepes will be open from 11am-4pm at the Wilfred Place club.

The business is owned by Martyn Ladkin who has also set up Get Baking Delivery, which is a service aimed at providing hard-to-get ingredients including free-range eggs and organic self-raising flour.

Ashby man rises to the challenge after facing year without work

He knew he needed another business to stay afloat after seeing I Love Crepes effectively put out of action for much of the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has seen so many special events cancelled.

Martyn has urged people to share news of Sunday's pitch at the Ivanhoe Club as he still intends to keep I Love Crepes as his priority.

They will also be selling the bakery ingredients separately.

The I love Crepes Facebook page adds: "If we could give Karen from Ivanhoe Social Club a big kiss, we would.

"We have waited patiently for Government guidelines to allow us commence."

Martyn told Ashby Nub News: "We've been at Warwick Market this weekend, it's not our usual thing, but we've seen a few pop-ups in the area, but we'll be serving fresh on the spot.

"We've been waiting, I can't say patiently though.

"But on Sunday it'll be the first time we've had the proper set-up since restrictions were relaxed.

"I had a chat with Karen at the Ivanhoe Social Club and she wanted a chat. I was just a stranger on the phone but we couldn't have done it without her.

"Fingers crossed, we can do well, we've had a great response. We'll be operating safety measures, we've picked up plenty ideas from the market traders."
