St Helen's Church in Ashby says anti-social behaviour has forced it close its doors to the public for the rest of the month.
The town centre church believes it has 'no alternative' to close from Monday to Friday for the next two weeks - other than for services.
The decision would see St Helen's closed during the week until the end of the school holidays.
However, it will be open on Saturdays and Sundays.
St Helen's says it plans to review this decision next month.
A social media post on the Church's Facebook page on Wednesday evening said: "We love to keep our church open for people to come in, look around, pray and have a few moments of space from the pressures of daily life.
"Sadly, because of regular anti-social behaviour in the church, we feel we have no alternative but to keep the building closed Mondays to Fridays for the next two weeks, other than for our usual services.
"The building will be open throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays.
"We will review this at the end of the month and will certainly have the church open for at least part of each day once the school terms recommence."
The church has since told Ashby Nub News that there has been no damage caused to the church, but that the decision was made due to 'an increasing frequency of nuisance behaviour'.
