Castle Medical Group in Ashby will no longer be accepting new patients from Moira, Donisthorpe or Norris Hill from next month.

The Burton Road surgery says Ashby's ever-growing population is behind the decision - although existing patients from the three areas mentioned will not be affected.

Castle Medical posted on its Facebook page on Thursday to explain: "As our practice population continues to grow due to the increasing number of building developments in the area, we have made the difficult decision to change our practice boundary from the 1st September 2020.

"The following areas will no longer be part of our practice boundary and unfortunately we will no longer be able to accept new patient registrations from the following areas:-

  • Donisthorpe
  • Moria (Shortheath and Donisthorpe side of Measham Road and Moira Road)
  • Norris Hill (Boothorpe and Conkers side of Blackfordby Lane).

"For patients who are currently registered with the practice whose current address is in one of these areas, we would like to reassure you that you will not be asked to move GP and you will still be able to access services from Castle Medical Group."
