A route to the south of Ashby will be closed off for two days this week.

There will be a road closure on Lower Packington Road between Upper Packington Road and Cambrian Way on February 14.

This will affect the area for two days, and the road will be closed during the day between 9am and 3pm.

Leicestershire County Council Highways said: "The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for National Grid Electricity Distribution to facilitate the replacement of electricity poles and conductors.

"The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Avenue Road, Tamworth Road, Measham Road, Ashby de la Zouch; Measham Road, Bridge Street, Heather Lane, Normanton Road, Ashby Road, Packington; and vice versa."

During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed HERE.
