An Ashby restaurant has denied 'circulating rumours' that it is about to close - with new owners taking over.

Little India has taken to social media to deny the suggestions and confirm it is operating as usual.

The Market Street-based restaurant says it 'has an idea' where the rumour may have started.

But it has moved quickly to set the record straight.

The restaurant's message reads: "To all our customers, we have been made aware of rumours that have been circulating about us.

"We would like to take this time to put these to bed.

"The rumour in question is about us supposedly closing down and having new owners.

"We can confirm that these rumours are false, as we have not changed owners nor do we have the intention to close down.

"We have an idea of where these rumours may have started from and hopefully this post sets things straight.

"Since opening in 2017, we have had endless support from the lovely people of Ashby and neighbouring areas which keeps us going.

"We appreciate all the support we get and hope to continue offering what we do best."
