North West Leicestershire District Council has reminded Ashby residents that it will collect your old clothes and shoes.

The council has emphasised the service with charity shops currently closed.

Clothes will be recycled or given to those in need.

The council's social media post reads: "With charity shops currently closed - did you know we can collect old clothes and shoes?

"Please put them in a carrier bag or stretchy bag for life and leave it out with your recycling - remember to tie it up well to stop any water getting in.

"Any re-wearable items will be given to those in need and anything that can't be re-worn will be recycled
