Ashby offices vandalised as part of Palestine Action group campaign against links with 'drone engine factory'

The Ivanhoe Business Park offices of Fisher German were vandalised in what is thought to be a politically-motivated attack.

Leicestershire Police have confirmed that enquiries into the early hours incident are ongoing - but no arrests have yet been made.

The Ashby offices were targeted last Thursday morning (August 18) at around 4am.

Windows were smashed and red paint daubed on the front of the building.

The group Palestine Action has claimed responsibility as part of a campaign against the company's offices.

Palestine Action is protesting against Fisher German's links to the Israel-based company Elbit,

A tweet from Palestine Action reads: "Vine Property Management, trading under Fisher German, run the premises of Elbit's drone engine factory.

"These engines power up Israel's lethal drones, used to massacre people across the world.

"If you deal with Elbit, you'll get shut down with Elbit."

The group also tweeted following the incident in Ashby in a post which reads: "Direct action will continue until Fisher German #EvictElbit and confirm they have cut the war criminals' factory lease. #ShutElbitDown."

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers are investigating an incident of criminal damage at a business in Ashby.

"A report was made to police at 4.15am last Thursday (18 August) that a premises in Norman Court had been damaged in the early hours.

"A number of windows had been smashed and paint sprayed over the front of the building.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident. And no arrests have been made.

"Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting 22*479092."
