Ashby Netball Club have finally had their Guinness World Record confirmed - almost six months after their marathon fundraising effort.
The club's players aimed to beat the number of netball goals scored in a 24 hour period.
In the end, the final number of goals was 28,745 - which more than doubled the current World Record.
The event, held at Charnwood College in Loughborough in February, also raised money for the Midlands-based charity Kids Village - which is the UK's first purpose-built holiday venue just for children with critical illness and their families.
And it was that which the club said 'went beyond' breaking records - as they raised over £20,000 for charity.
But it has been a long wait to finally have the world record confirmed.
Last week, the club finally got the news they wanted.
A social media post said: "It's the announcement that we've all been waiting for - Ashby Netball Club is officially a Guinness World Record Title Holder!
"The hard work, dedication, and pure determination of our incredible team paid off in the most spectacular way.
"We are beyond thrilled to share this extraordinary achievement with all of you!
"But that's not all! This triumph goes beyond breaking records; we also raised a staggering £20,444 for The Kids Village, a charity that supports critically ill children and their families."
One of the organisers, Carla Garey, told Ashby Nub News: "It's been a crazy process, and taken so much work."
