Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido official 2025 opening is set to take place on Saturday (May 24).

Run by Everyone Active in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council, the centre has revealed its full pool programme.

With cold water sessions finishing on Friday, May 23, the holiday timetable will run initially for the half-term break from Saturday, May 24–Sunday, June 1, as well as during the summer holidays from Saturday, July 12-Sunday, August 31.

During the holiday programme, family swim sessions will take place from 9am-4.45pm from Monday to Friday and 10am-5.45pm at weekends. Lane swimming, private hire and pool party slots will also be available.

A term time programme will operate from Monday, June 2 – Friday, July 11. Family swim sessions will be available at weekends from 10am-5.45pm, with lane swimming offered seven days a week.

Rounding off the season from September 13 – October 19, at weekends only, will be doggy splash, which proved hugely popular following its launch last year.

These sessions allow dogs to enjoy the pool with their fellow canines and their owners. The pool and poolside area will then be thoroughly cleaned and will close for the season.

The pool is the only public lido in Leicestershire and celebrates its 96th birthday this year. The facility includes a large sandpit and a 'Splashby Hut' serving a range of refreshments – all combining to make the 'Ashby-by-the-Sea' experience.

Ahead of the official launch, £60,000 has been invested in a new pool surround surface and decoration, off the back of last year's £85,000 investment in new pool lining.

Duncan Gibb, Everyone Active's contract manager, said: "We are really looking forward to welcoming families and seeing everyone enjoying the pool, sun and sand.

"As the only public lido in Leicestershire, we are expecting a busy summer, particularly in the wake of the recent warmer weather, so we would encourage people to book their places as early as possible.

"Swimming is a hugely important life skill and the lido allows everyone to enjoy a range of activities in a safe environment, no matter what their age or ability."

Customers can book swim slots via the Everyone Active app or everyoneactive.com. Booking is essential prior to attending. Customers are advised that lane swim sessions are included in their membership.
