Fishers Solicitors in Ashby is lending its support to National Conveyancing Week - dedicated to shining a light on the residential property industry.

The event takes place from March 20-24 and Fishers' team of residential conveyancers are joining others across the country in a variety of events which intend to 'inform, educate, assist, motivate, reassure, help recruit new entrants, improve the profile of conveyancers and conveyancing'.

Amanda Payne, Head of Residential Property and Partner of Fishers said: "As the biggest team at Fishers, we seem to be always incredibly busy and working towards tight deadlines.

"Keeping in touch with our clients is a priority, so finding time to look at the bigger picture of the industry isn't always possible day to day.

"This dedicated week allows myself and the team a chance to focus on how we can work together to improve the industry, shine a light on our conveyancers and the future of conveyancing."

The National Conveyancing Week website states: "Conveyancers are, on the whole, undervalued, under-appreciated and misunderstood, and there are more leaving the conveyancing profession at the top end than there are joining at the bottom end - and is it any wonder?"

Fishers says it is focused on sharing spotlights on each of its residential property experts - taking a closer look into their everyday lives, some struggles they face at work and how they balance work and life.

Founder of National Conveyancing Week Rob Hailstone says: "Home buying and selling is one of the most important events that takes place in the lives of nearly everyone at some point in time.

"It can be time consuming and difficult to understand for many. National Conveyancing Week aims to help de-mystify the many strands that make up the process, not just for the general public but also for the numerous stakeholders involved in it."

The Bank of England reported: "The average house price was a little over £10,000 back in 1977.

"Roll forward 40 years and the average price has risen to over £200,000. Even with the general increase in the prices of goods and services, house prices are now around three times as expensive as they were in the late 1970s."

With the housing market changing at a dramatic rate, Fishers, as a firm, says it needs to ensure it is on top of the changes, working with every party in the housing chain, including the bank, estate agent, solicitors and mortgage advisors and ensuring its clients get a transparent and good quality level of service.

The Ivanhoe Business Park law firm adds that taking part in this week's worth of events helps its team be part of an important and crucial conversation with everyone involved.
