Ashby Ivanhoe postpone football activities as mark of respect following death of Queen Elizabeth

Ashby Ivanhoe FC has confirmed it has postponed tomorrow's development and soccer school sessions tomorrow (Saturday) following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The club - as across the country - will have no matches this weekend.

The first team - after an unbeaten start to the Midland League season - were to have played Shropshire side, Shawbury United.

But the club have also postponed their other football activities.

A statement from Ashby Ivanhoe reads: "We have received confirmation from the FA that football across the country will be postponed this weekend as a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"This includes our Midland Football League fixture, Leicestershire Senior League fixture and all junior fixtures.

"We have also taken the decision to postpone both the Development/ Soccer School tomorrow morning.

"No decision has been made on fixtures that are due to be played midweek next week, any news on those will follow in due course."
