Ashby Ivanhoe FC Appeal For Volunteers To Get Pitch Ready For Boxing Day Game

Ashby Ivanhoe FC have issued an appeal to the public to help them get the pitch ready for their Boxing Day match.

They want volunteers to come down to their NFU ground on Lower Packington Road on Saturday.

Ashby are due to play host to Chelmsley Town and are determined the game should go ahead despite the recent bad weather.

They are encouraging people to come dressed in Santa hats to help fork the playing surface.

There is a provisional start of 9am but times have still to be confirmed.

And they have promised to throw in a bacon roll and a drink with an online poster reading: "If we can get it on, it will be a cracking day, football and lots of beer!"

The club say help might also be needed Sunday or Monday.
