Ashby is next for North West Leicestershire District Council's deep clean operation.

Our Coalville and Ashby Nub News sites both reported earlier this month that the two town centres would be cleaned as part of the relaxing of Covid rules - you can read that article HERE.

Coalville has been done - as the council's photo here shows - and now it is Ashby's turn.

It has been pointed out that the clean will be done after 9pm when the town is not so busy.

The district council posted on social media: "Our street cleaning contractor, Brooklands Group, has done a great job at deep cleaning the streets of Coalville.

"Can you spot the difference?

"The team will be moving onto Ashby-de-la-Zouch within the next couple of days to continue the deep cleaning programme.

"A reminder that cleaning will take place after 9pm to help keep disruption to a minimum.

"Thanks to the team for working their magic and to residents for your continued patience."
