Ashby Fire Crews Called Out To Huge Blaze On Other Side Of The County

Crews from Ashby Station Fire Station were one of several called to assist at a large blaze at a commercial building in Melton Mowbray on Sunday.

The crews from Ashby were mobilised to the fire on St Bartholomew's Way, Melton, which started in the early hours.

The building on fire was around 150x50m and fire crews from across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire were called throughout Sunday morning.

In all, 11 crews attended the blaze which took much of the day to bring under control.

The was used for recycling insulation and refrigeration materials and contained a number of gas cylinders. A cause has yet to be determined.
