North's Deli in Ashby is to re-open under new management next month.

The cafe's current owners are leaving to concentrate on a similar venture across the county in Rothley.

But it will continue as a deli-style business - with a former manager taking charge.

Dominic and Jules North are handing over the reins to Gavin and Zara Williams after 12 years in the town centre.

Gavin is a former manager at North's and it will be renamed The Handmade Brownie Company.

A post on North's social media said this week: "After 12 fantastic years in Ashby, North's Deli have decided it's time for us to bid farewell.

"We have had the most amazing 12 years in the wonderful town of Ashby, making lots of friends along the way. It has been an incredibly tough decision but one we feel is right for North's going forward as we continue to grow our Rothley Deli and Coffee Shop.

"Our decision does, however, come with some fantastic news. Many of you will remember Gavin Williams, who managed North's Ashby for seven years.

"Gavin and his lovely wife Zara are extremely excited to be reopening North's Ashby as The Handmade Brownie Compabny. Gavin and Zara opened their bakery and eatery in Coalville just over two years ago, and will continue to run this alongside their new Ashby branch.

"The other good news - all current staff will remain in place and there will only be a short window of closure.

"North's last day will be Saturday, May 18, and the grand opening of The Handmade Brownie Company will be on Friday, May 24. You will continue to be able to get your fix of North's cakes and savouries as we will be working alongside Gavin and Zara to supply our products to them.

"The shop will remain a Deli, Coffee Shop and Eatery – so this really is such positive news for Ashby!

"We would like to thank all of our customers, friends and fellow business owners for the support and love that you have shown us and for allowing us to be part of your wonderful community. We wish Gavin and Zara every success with their new venture as they continue to grow their wonderful business."
