Ashby Arts Festival are holding a children's art competition in partnership with Ashby Specsavers, encouraging local children to pick up their paper and pens to create their own animal.

The competition invites children to: 'draw your own wild creature. The creature can be found anywhere in the world... in sea, land or sky.

'Write what it is called, what it eats and where it lives - you may win a lovely prize.'

To take part in the competition, pick up an entry form from Specsavers, the Ashby Tourist Information Centre by the library or download it online.

Once the drawing is complete, hand it in to Specsavers or the Tourist Information Centre. If the Tourist Information Centre is shut, post it through the TIC letterbox at any time.

The competition closes on 15 May.
