A deep clean of Ashby town centre streets is set to resume next week.

Now that the Statues have been and gone, North West Leicestershire District Council will continue its post-lockdown clean up.

Work is due to take place on Wednesday and Thursday next week (Sept 29 and 30).

The council says: "A reminder that our deep cleaning programme in Ashby is due to resume now that the Ashby Statutes Fair has taken place.

"Whilst our contractors will use protective equipment, we expect that some cars might get a bit wet in the process - particularly cars parked overnight in the North Street/The Green area.

"Residents will be notified and will receive a note to let them know that our contractors will be working in the area on 29 and 30 September.

"Alternative parking is recommended. Thank you for your patience."

The deep clean was originally scheduled for August but it had to be cancelled due to a shortage of lorry drivers needed to deal with the mess caused by the cleaning Ashby deep clean delayed due to shortage of drivers.
