Ashby Christian Aid Group sets up online donations after difficult year

By Graham Hill 6th May 2021

With Christian Aid Week approaching (10-16 May), Ashby and District Christian Aid Group have arranged for online donations to be made.

For many years the Ashby Group have been raising funds to help the world's poor, of whatever faith or none, to battle hunger, climate change and now coronavirus.

This has resulted in nearly £10,000 in recent years.

The annual house-to-house collection had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic and it is having a bearing on this year.

With Ashby growing, and a move away from use of cash by many, it has become increasingly difficult to cover all properties and for people to make donations in this way.

Local volunteer organiser Frank Bedford has therefore set up a way for people to make donations on-line using the following link HERE.

This year's example of the type of projects that Christian Aid funds and arranges with local volunteers on the ground and not through governments, features Rose, 67 (pictured above), who walks for six hours every day to collect water for her grandchildren.

Christian Aid funds projects such as building a water dam to store locally what little water there is.

The Ashby and District Group hopes that you will be able to support their efforts in this way.
