Ashby de la Zouch Castle has re-opened today (Saturday) and will be open from Wednesday to Sunday.

You will need to book in advance however according to the English Heritage Website.

And the numbers visiting will be limited due to the continuing Coronavirus restrictions.

The castle's Facebook page announced on Saturday: "We're delighted to be reopening today.

"We've been working hard to welcome you back safely.

"We'd love to see everyone enjoying Ashby de la Zouch Castle once again!

"Booking is now essential to visit and time slots are already filling up! Book your visit now."

The English Heritage website adds: "We have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you won't be able to visit without your booking confirmation.

"If you're a Member, your ticket will be free, but you still need to book in advance.

"There will be other new steps in place to ensure everyone's safety, so your visit may be a little different."
