Ashby: Candidates for May's North West Leicestershire District Council elections have been confirmed

The candidates standing for election to North West Leicestershire District Council have been named.

With voters going to the polls on May 4, the parties have confirmed who will be standing in 38 wards across the district.

While the election is to decide who is to represent the area in council at Coalville, the results across the country could be considered an indicator ahead of the General Election in just over 18 months.

North West Leicestershire is currently Conservative run, and council leader, Richard Blunt, will be standing in the Appleby Ward.

Here are the wards and the candidates, with the parties they represent.
