The Bath Grounds advisory committee has highlighted a number of improvements to be made in the area following its meeting last month.

Ashby de la Zouch Town Council's Parks & Cemetery committee heard Cllr Mike Ball, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Bath Grounds Advisory Committee, present the first set of minutes of the Group.

Cllr David Bigby reported at the time that there are a number of items which have been highlighted in the minutes of the Advisory Group.

  • Clearing vegetation by the far side of the cricket pitch
  • Potential footpath on the far side of the cricket pitch thus creating a complete footpath around the perimeter of the grounds
  • Large bush to be removed on the way up to the wild flower walk;
  • Several tree stumps need grinding down (a couple of these are sprouting leaves)
  • Weedkiller on heritage walk as grass is growing into the footpath
  • Lighting around the back near the bowling club
  • Maggie's bench bin is loose
  • Fence by the Japanese knotweed needs repairing
  • CCTV for the whole of the park

It was said in the meeting that these were long-standing issues and appear not have been dealt with.

He hoped that the Deputy Town Clerk would implement these operational issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
