North West Leicestershire District Council says waste collections and recycling will be collected as normal in Ashby over the Bank Holiday week.

A four-day holiday for the Platinum Jubilee starts on Thursday, June 2.

But even though that covers collections for the Thursday and Friday, the District Council says you should put your rubbish out as usual, as collections will not be affected over the holiday dates.

The District Council posted details on social media today (Tuesday) and said: "If your recycling containers, garden waste or rubbish bins are collected on a Thursday or Friday, you may be wondering about collections over the Bank Holiday next week.

"Our crews will still be out and about doing the rounds all next week, including the Bank Holiday.

"So as long as there aren't any street closures we're not aware of, collections will be as normal.

"Please put your bins out as normal by 6am on your collection day."
