Ashby and Measham are in the top 10 areas across Leicestershire which have been rated as being the best for food hygiene.

The figures were collated using the UK Food Standards Agency's open data, where the search results were filtered to include hygiene ratings of five and one. The total number of search results for each hygiene rating category was recorded.

The report ranks the areas in the county, based on their five-star and one-star food and hygiene ratings.

Shepshed is the top area with the most (75.97 per cent) five-star food and hygiene ratings.

Ashby is eighth (71.15 per cent), while Measham comes in ninth (69.71 per cent)

The results were converted into percentages and areas with over 100 or more establishments with a rating were then analysed.

Places with a rating of of zero were not included in the listings as there were only 17 across the city and county. Leicester had the highest share of these with nine in total.
