'Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated': Ashby councillors team up with Police
By Grace Kennington 15th Mar 2026
An Ashby Town Councillor has spoken out about the continued increase of anti-social behaviour in the area, working with police and the district council to tackle the issue.
Cllr Murrae Blair-Park has worked with Catherine Ridgway, Community Safety Officer for Anti-Social Behaviour at North West Leicestershire District Council, and members of the neighbourhood policing team to put up signs in the area warning that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
The signs, which have been put up at Money Hill in Ashby, warn visitors that there has been anti-social behaviour in the area and warning anyone participating in anti-social behaviour that they could be prosecuted.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Cllr Blair-Park said: 'Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in our community.
'Many thanks to Cat from the district council to heighten awareness to support the Police to deal with anti-social behaviours within our community.
'To give police the best chance of taking action against the offender, we ask that you: give as much detail as you can, [and] provide good-quality video or photos of the incident.'
To report anti-social behaviour or driving, report it to Leicestershire Police.
Cllr Blair-Park has previous raised concerns over anti-social behaviour in the area, describing the misuse of the newly created slip road into the Money Hill development, which, he claims, is 'being used by some drivers to perform "doughnuts" and other reckless driving manoeuvres.
'In the evenings, especially later at night, groups of drivers are repeatedly using this stretch of road to speed, rev engines and carry out dangerous manoeuvres.
'Local residents are experiencing persistent noise, disturbance and antisocial behaviour as a result.'
